Clevedon & District Archaeological Society – Welcome to our Roman Garden!
We English are justly proud of our gardens – but so were the Romans! Importing ideas from Persia, Egypt and of course the Greeks, they produced lavish gardens both as tranquil flowery retreats from the bustle of Roman life but also to grow vegetables – with a distinctly Mediterranean flavour! Come to Clevedon & District Archaeological Society’s meeting on Thursday 30th October at 7:30pm at St Andrews Church Centre in Old Church Road, Clevedon. Hear – and see – an illustrated lecture by James Bond – the distinguished academic and author (not the spy!) Guests £3.
