Party Time for Cheddar Valley Senior Citizens

On 5th April Cheddar Vale Lions Club held a tea party for Senior Citizens in the community. They were collected from the residential homes and returned safely home from all over the Cheddar Vale area.  Individuals are welcomed too; we arrange pickup points for those without transport. We thank all the minibus drivers for their assistance and getting the participants to Shipham Village hall on time.

They enjoy meeting up with friends, taking part in the quizzes, Bingo and listening to the entertainment that was provided by the Somerset Crooner.  We provided an afternoon tea with l00 scones that were baked by local Café Gorge in their bakery, they were delicious. Our members and helpers from our Friends Group set up the hall, ran the kitchen preparing sandwiches, cutting up the homemade cakes and filling up the teapots, enough to cater for 89 participants.   We must also thank the St Johns Ambulance officers and cadets that attended for their assistance.

What an amazing day enjoyed, not only by the participants who left with smiling faces, but very rewarding for our members and helpers.
